The ABBA Arena is a bespoke, state-of-the-art concert venue in East London which opened in 2022 to host the world premiere of ABBA Voyage.
With a distinctive hexagonal shape, the ABBA Arena London is located close to Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in Stratford, and is designed by British entertainment architects Stufish. Their other projects include Stormzy’s “Heavy is the Head” tour and Global Citizen Live 2021.
Concept art for the arena was first made public in September 2021, when Swedish pop group ABBA’s hugely anticipated virtual reunion tour was announced. A disused car park close to Pudding Mill Station was chosen as the site of the purpose-built venue, which would play host to the ABBA Voyage tour’s residency in London. The 3,000-seat venue is constructed from mass timber and can be dismantled and moved to new locations with ease.
The ABBA Arena combines state-of-the-art technology and architecture to immerse crowds in the world of ABBA, with an extensive site including a concourse with bars, a food area, and merchandise outlets. Unlike a usual stadium venue, the performance and audience space of ABBA Arena is completely covered, allowing the amazing technology to surround you from every angle.
