Voyage takes place in a custom-built temporary stadium, ABBA Arena, and cost $175 million to develop, making it one of the most expensive live shows ever. It'll need to attract north of 2 million fans just to break even, but that seems doable with 650,000 tickets already sold.

You will get a better view from a seat. The standing area was crowded. People did stand and dance from the seats but only intermittently and not to every song. It's an amazing show and you will both love it.

Abba Voyage show will soon travel “around the world”, organisers have reportedly said. The virtual concert, which sees hologram- style “Abba-tars” of the pop band performing a full setlist in a purpose-built arena, has seen enormous demand. The unique concert, which opened last May, has sold over a million tickets.

Concerts take place twice a day, at 3pm and 7.45pm, every Monday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. After December, the show will begin a world tour that lasting until 2026. The ABBA Arena has a variety of options.

The smartest bit of the production – ABBA 'actually on stage' (which we'll come to later) – is actually the one thing you're most likely not looking at. Thus – just like a real gig – for 90% of the time you're watching a pre-rendered Avatar-quality animated movie on huge screens in front of you.

There is no official dress code for the evening. Expect to see a mix of ABBA fancy dress, Donna dungarees and normal evening out attire.

The nearest station is the Charlton Mainline station. From there you can catch any number of buses to North Greenwich Underground Station and from there it is a 9 minute walk to the O2.

The nearest Underground station to the arena is North Greenwich station, which is on the Jubilee Line in Zones 2 and 3. It only takes 20 minutes to get to the arena from Central London.

Tickets start around £77 and provide a fully immersive experience. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the Dance Floor never felt too crowded, and it was very easy to quickly access the bar and toilets without having to navigate the steps or ramps from the seated blocks.

How many people can fit in ABBA Arena dance booth? ›

We have eight Dance Booths in total, four for up to 10 people and four for up to 12 people. Each booth is named after people from the ABBA universe. These are flexible spaces, so you can book an individual ticket, or book one or more whole booths for your party. Each booth has seating, plus your very own dance floor.

You really haven't seen anything like ABBA Voyage before. The 95-minute concert is an immersive experience that uses that big wrap-around screen to re-animate a band who last played live in 1979. The entire effect is like being in an ABBA Elevator. The entire thing wouldn't work, if the Abbatars didn't feel real.

Doors to the ABBA Arena open 1 hour 45 minutes before the concert, so you can arrive early to make the most of our bar and food outlets which will all be open before the concert starts.

Of course, being a dance floor, you are unable to sit where you are, but this easy access to the concourse means you can find a place to sit if you need to and at 90 minutes without an interval, the show is just short enough that standing (well, dancing) for the duration isn't a problem.

No issue with the standing, just the audience! There is no bad view from the seats. We were seated to one side and enjoyed the show. Sitting in the central block of seats will give the best view of the holograms from a technical point of view and I think they are more expensive for that reason.

There will be one performance a day on Monday, Thursday and Friday. However there is a matinee and evening performance of ABBA Voyage on Saturday and Sunday.

Very handy if you have dance floor tickets. It's very warm inside the arena so no coats required. Photos and videos are not allowed when the show starts but people were still taking photos, however, there were staff keeping a watchful eye and didn't hesitate to warn people who were ignoring the rules.

Food and drink purchased elsewhere may not be brought into or consumed at the ABBA Arena and will be confiscated on entry. You should avoid bringing large suitcases or bags to the Arena as these may not be admitted and cloakroom availability cannot be guaranteed.
